Sustainability

This guide will help you get started with your research on sustainability topics.

Databases for Finding Articles on Sustainability Topics

Databases by Subject: Sustainability lists the most useful databases for sustainability research. You can also try OneSearch, a new search interface that brings in search results from multiple sources. Read more about One Search in the box below.

In addition to using Databases by Subject: Sustainability you can also find more databases by selecting the appropriate subject categorgy on Databases by Subject. Appropriate subject categories might be Architecture, Engineering, Agriculture, Business, etc. - it depends on your topic.

Because sustainability is an interdisciplinary area you might have to look in several databases for journal articles. There is not one "best" database for sustainability. Think of the focus of your project and start with an appropriate subject database. For example: is your project focused on architecture? agriculture? engineering? science? policy? economic?

Don't hesitate to contact a Subject Librarian. It's our job to help you find the best database for your topic.

Use OneSearch

OneSearch is the Library's new search interface. With a single search you can look for books, articles, and other materials on any research topic. It's especially useful for interdisciplinary topics such as sustainability. You can still search subject specific databases by clicking the Databases link below the search box, then select the database of your choice.

OneSearch is still under development and has some quirks. Take a look at our OneSearch FAQ to learn more.
