  3. Distinguish among primary, secondary, and tertiary literature sources.
  4. Correctly communicate in writing full citations for bibliographic referenes.
  5. Explain the methods followed in designing and implementing a scientific investigation.
  6. Define and differentiate between null and alternative hypotheses.
  7. Define, identify, and differentiate among independent, dependent, and standardized variables.
  8. Explain what control treatments are and why they are required.
  9. Describe the value of replication and randomization to experimental design.
  10. Design, set-up, and initiate an experiment based on your research proposal.
