APA Citation Guides
Students and faculty writing in the field of psychology generally use the APA style to format their papers and to cite their sources. The rules of APA Style are detailed in the Publication Manual of the American Psychological Association, a text which you can access in our library. However, there are a number of online guides that provide tips and examples that may prove useful to you as well.
This tutorial is designed for those who have no previous knowledge of APA Style. It shows users how to structure and format their work, recommends ways to reduce bias in language, identifies how to avoid charges of plagiarism, shows how to cite references in text, and provides selected reference examples.
