I feel like teaching is a wonderful passion to have and having the ability to further build a child’s education career. I hope to do more than just teaching lessons from a book and having the ability to be interactive and working together with the children as well versus just lecturing all day. I understand every child comes from different backgrounds, cultures etc. so I hope to make an inclusive classroom and pay close attention to what the child needs. |
I believe each child is unique and has their own way of learning. My job as an educator is to support and empower children through their learning process. I shall create a safe, comfortable, and welcoming environment for each student. I am committed to learn from my students just as much as they will be learning from me. |

Marissa's teaching philosophy is based off the Reggio Emilia approach that children learn best through active experiences with people, materials, and ideas. With this philosophy, children are seen as competent, strong, creative, and full of ideas with rights instead of needs. That teachers are also partners and collaborators in the learning process with the child and parents. | Irene’s teaching philosophy when teaching would be to not give up on any student. Every student has their own skills and knowledge and different learning styles. Also, having a bond with the student is important. So, having their parents involved in their learning not only creates a connection between home and school but also builds a bond. |

Mishelly's teaching philosophy derives from her passion to create a classroom environment where each individual student understands that they belong and are loved beyond measure as they embrace their diversity and unique creativity. | I believe that children are unique individuals that learn best through play in a safe, caring, and stimulating environment. In order to grow and mature emotionally, intellectually, physically, and socially they need a welcoming and safe environment that meets each of their individual needs. Although some guidance is needed, they will need to be given the space to discover things for themselves and practice their skills. |

My teaching philosophy focuses on inclusivity and acceptance. Through my teaching, I want to encourage their creativity and their critical thinking skills. Since there are many different backgrounds, I also want to create a class where all students feel welcomed and appreciated. My overall goal is to have my students believe in themselves and remain open to new ideas. | Maia’s teaching philosophy is to follow the curriculum while still finding a way to incorporate real life experiences so that the child can relate to the content as well as understand it. Doing so will ensure the student is successful because not only do they know the content but they understand it because they have found a way to relate to it. |

Hello everyone! For this storytime, we will read This is Me: A Story of Who We Are and Where We Came From by Jamie Lee Curtis and illustrated by Laura Cornell. For the activity, you will create a time capsule with items that represent you and your favorite memories. Make sure to include some items that you would want to put away for a long time. Be prepared to discuss the items you chose for our time capsules. We’re also going to have a discussion about the future and the importance of remembering. See you then!
-A container (a small box, a tin box, etc.)
-2 or more items you would be okay with putting away for a long time
