IBISWorld: An Introductory Guide, including How to Download Reports

IBISWorld is a useful database in which you can find industry and company reports to inform your research projects. You can search the database by keyword, company name, or NAICS code.

How to access IBISWorld

To access IBISWorld from the library home page, click on Databases.

Navigate to IBIS World under Letter I.

  • Link (requires your Bronco name and password)

How to search for reports

There are multiple ways to search the database:

  • keyword (example: restaurant)
  • company name (example: Olive Garden)
  • NAICS code (example: 722511)

You can also browse the available reports using the menu at the top.

How to download reports

Once you have opened a report, use the Download icon to download a PDF or Word document of the entire report.

You can also download an Excel version of all the tables in the report.

How to cite reports in APA style

There are two ways to cite an IBISWorld report.

1. For industry reports which show a named author, start with the author's name.

2. For company benchmarking reports, which do not show a named author, start with IBISWorld.
