FEDSTATS A gateway to 100 US agencies that gather statistics. There is a detailed A to Z listing and a search window.

Zanran  Use a search engine for keyword searching for statistics available on the Internet.  "... find ‘semi-structured’ data on the web. This is the numerical data that people have presented as graphs and tables and charts."  

Data on the Net From UC San Diego: “Search or browse our listing of 363 Internet sites of numeric Social Science statistical data, data catalogs, data libraries, social science gateways, addresses and more.” Finding Data on the Internet: A Journalist's Guide Finding Data organizes data by subject, which leads to both numbers and text. Statistical Abstract of the United States The Statistical Abstract ( Ref HA 203 S83) is the basic source for statistical data about the US. The choices include links for "Frequently requested tables" and "USA Statistics in Brief". There are also some data for foreign countries. This site includes links to other basic statistics reference sources.
