This tutorial shows how to download trade data from OTEXA, US Trade Dataweb, and UN Comtrade database. The tutorial was updated September 2023 and last reviewed February 2025. Important updates:
February 25, 2025. For UN Comtrade, on slide 29: Reporters should be USA; Partners should be your country.
March 14, 2025. We learned the DataWeb interface has changed. Most selections are just about the same as before for retrieving desired trade data. However, in Step 2, you will now select both “General Customs Value” and “General First Unit of Quantity.” Then you can manually calculate the quotient of General Customs Value divided by General First Unit of Quantity, after downloading the trade data.
