The Importance of an Informed Electorate

As a Republican Democracy, the United States places power ultimately in the hands of voters.  This is even more true in the case of the State of California, where voters are regularly asked to vote on popular referenda (Propositions) that create state law, taxes, raise bonds, or amend the State Constitution.

As voters and citizen legislators, it is our duty to make sure that the votes we cast, votes that directly affect our lives as well as the lives of our neighbors, are guided by good information and careful consideration.  The resources below have been collected in order to help you better understand the forces that influence elections, in order to help you become a more informed voter.
