The literature section of the Biblioteca Virtual Miguel de Cervantes comprises thousands of digitised works spanning different literary genres, including literary history. The catalogue includes Spanish and Latin American novels, plays, poetry and literary criticism from the Biblioteca Nacional de España, the Real Academia de la Lengua, other academies, Latin American national libraries, and a range of publishers.

The Cervantes Virtual Center (CVC) is an Internet site created and maintained by the Cervantes Institute of Spain in 1997 to contribute to the dissemination of the Spanish language and Hispanic cultures. The Cervantes Virtual Center offers materials and services for Spanish teachers, students, translators, journalists and other professionals who work with the language, as well as for Hispanists from all over the world, and for anyone interested in the Spanish language, its culture, and the situation of Spanish on the Net.
