Institutional Review Board

Are you conducting research with human subjects? Or reusing data that involves human subjects? You might need to get approval from the IRB (Institutional Review Board) in order to be in compliance:

Office of Research & Sponsored Programs

The Office of Research & Sponsored Programs is on-campus resource to assist you with external funded research from government agencies foundations, and corporations. The mission of the Office is to increase scholarship on campus and to find new opportunities for students to “Learn-By-Doing” in order to prepare them for the post-graduate economy.

Pre-Award Services

  • Workshops on external funding (topics vary)
  • Advise and match faculty with funding opportunities
  • Assist with writing and budget preparation.
  • Review proposals to ensure compliance with Federal and University policies. They route the proposal to the appropriate parties for approvals.
  • Sends the proposal to the sponsor.

 

 

 

 

 

Post-Award Services

  • Award Processing: Prepares the documentation and send to the CPP Foundation
  • Award Acceptance: Negotiates the research contracts. The ORSP will work with you on any revisions to the contract. Any changes to the scope of work or budget must be completed by the Principal Investigator or Project Director and routed to ORSP.
  • Project Monitoring: Federal and State laws require grants and contracts are monitored to ensure compliance with funder. The ORSP will advise you what is allowed and what is not allowed.
  • Sub-contracts: If the award received at Cal Poly is sub-contracted, contact the ORSP for guidance. They will help you with negotiating the sub-contract.

The Cal Poly Pomona Foundation, Inc. assist Principal Investigators with:

  • Award Management: Sets up the account for the Principal Investigator.
  • Grant & Contracts Accounting: Provides financial administration for the award
  • Funder Reminders: The Foundation will send you reminders about the periodic reports due to your funding agency.
  • All technical and close-out reports must be sent to the CPP Foundation, Inc.
