Instructions

Quick Start Guide:

The Media Studio is located on the 2nd floor of the library, room 2434, towards the rear of the building.

  1. Check out the Media Studio Kit located at the circulation desk on the 2nd floor.
  • Swipe into the room with the access card from the Media Studio Kit.
  1. Insert  your USB thumb drive into the slot under the Record, Stop, Pause, & Mark buttons.
  • The 2 overhead lights should turn on.
  • Remove the lens cap from the camera.
  • The camera should display in the left monitor (if it does not, turn on the monitor, the power button is under the bottom on the right of the screen).
  1. When ready, press the Record button.
  • The record button will light up red when recording has begun, the green light next to the USB slot will flash green.
  • Press the pause button to pause the recording, press pause again to resume recording.
  1. Press Stop when you are finished.
  • Wait a few seconds, the record button will no longer be red and the green light next to the USB slot will stop flashing and light up solid green.
  1. Remove your USB thumb drive.
  • The 2 overhead lights will shut off and the camera will stop displaying in the left monitor.
  1. You can use the Media Studio computer to review your recording and make edits during your reservation.
  • Use the mouse and keyboard provided in the Media Studio Kit.
    • Be sure to turn on the mouse and keyboard.
  • You will use your CPP credentials to login to the computer.
  • Most other library computers also have editing software.
  • Be sure to logout of the computer when finished.
  1. Once use of the Media Studio is complete:
  • Return lens cap to camera.
  • Be sure to log off of the computer.
  • Gather all items supplied in the Media Studio Kit and return to the circulation desk.  Overdue fines will be applied if you are late.
  • Please make sure all users leave the Media Studio prior to check-in of the Media Studio Kit.
