CSU and CPP Transformative Agreements

Transformative Agreements

Transformative agreements are contracts between institutions and publishers that shift subscription spending toward a fully open-access publishing model.

⚠️ Important Update as of June 3, 2025 ⚠️
ACS’ open access publishing options for CSU authors will change effective July 1, 2025.
Authors who wish to publish open access with ACS will be responsible for fully covering the discounted $3,000 Article Processing Charge (APC). Reading access to ACS publications for CSU affiliates will continue without interruption.

Association for Computing Machinery (ACM)

Through October 2026

Read–publish agreement for CSU authors.

American Chemical Society (ACS)

Through December 2025

Supports OA publishing in ACS journals.

Elsevier

Through December 2027

CSU read–publish with OA options.

Oxford University Press

Through December 2028

OA publishing for eligible OUP titles.

APC-free Publishing

Journal of Agriculture, Food Systems, and Community Development

APC waivers and discounts are determined by each agreement or journal policy.

Eligibility often depends on the corresponding author’s CSU affiliation and the journal’s OA model.

Notes

The University Library does not pay APCs.
