“The library is an arena of possibility, opening both a window into the soul and a door onto the world."
-Rita Dove
From April 24 to April 28, 2023, Cal Poly Pomona University Library celebrates National Library Week (NLW). The areas included are the LRC, RAMP, Rm 2907, the Maker’s Studio, the RIS offices, the reflection room, Special Collections, the Bronco Family Space, and the Grand Reading Room. A unique stamp or sticker will be housed at each location for the student to “check off” that location from their list. Once the list is complete, they will return it to the front table along with their name and e-mail address. Once the event is complete, three “winners” will be randomly selected from the completed lists. There will be a 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place gift cards of $50, $25, and $15.

We are pleased to announce that the University Library will hold the Golden Leaves Author Awards recognition ceremony on Friday, April 28 from 11 a.m. – 12 noon via zoom. The event is free, but please register on Eventbrite to receive the login information.
Since 1986, the Golden Leaves program has celebrated those members of the Cal Poly Pomona campus community (faculty, staff, students, alumni, and retirees) who have authored or edited a book* in the preceding year. The Golden Leaves program is funded by the University Library, with the generous support of the Wilson Family Memorial Golden Leaves Endowment.
Each year, books published by Cal Poly Pomona authors are on display in the Library during the month of April. The University Library celebrates the Golden Leaves program annually in conjunction with National Library Week.
*Authors must be affiliated with the campus community (includes faculty, staff, students, alumni, and retirees) who have authored or edited a published book within the preceding two years. A book must be (following UNESCO’s book definition) at least 49 pages in length exclusive of cover pages. We accept books in an all-electronic format. Honorable Mention authors should meet all the same requirements for full Golden Leaves honors but have written or co-authored a chapter or essay within a larger published book (i.e., they are not listed as the book’s author or editor, but are listed as contributors to the whole work).
Cal Poly Pomona has a Library Club that does its events and partners with groups all over the campus. Click on the link to join the Library Club. You can become part of the conversation in the Library Club's Discord Server.
The library club meets on the first Monday of the month; to see the upcoming club meetings, we have it on the main library calendar. There is no membership fee to join!
