Includes real earthquake maps and link to other earthquake sites.

MIT Open Courseware: Earth, Atmospheric, and Planetary Science
We seek to understand the fundamental processes defining the origin, evolution, and current states of these systems and to use this understanding to predict the future. The phenomena under investigation are often vexingly complex, and they engage a large array of scientific disciplines: Geology, Geophysics, Geochemistry, Geobiology, Physical and Chemical Oceanography, Meteorology, Atmospheric Chemistry, and Planetary Science.

NASA Earth Science Division
NASA’s Earth Science Division (ESD) missions help us to understand our planet’s interconnected systems, from a global scale down to minute processes.

National Science Foundation (NSF) Geosciences Guide
The Directorate for Geosciences (GEO) at the NSF supports basic research that advances the frontiers of knowledge and drives technological innovation while improving our understanding of the many processes that affect the global environment. GEO supports research spanning the Atmospheric, Earth, Ocean and Polar sciences.

Native American Science Curriculum
"Our goal is to avoid romantic cliches and characterizations of Indian people and their traditional knowledge and to present this knowledge as well documented but different in approach from "Western science." These traditions are based on connection to the natural world, rather than separation from nature--in other words we are working with a science based on relationships, reciprocity and respect rather than solely on exploitation and economic concerns."

NNLM Geosciences Subject Primer
The Network of the National Library of Medicine offers subject primers for multiple disciplines including the Geosciences, which spans subfields including atmospheric chemistry, climatology, environmental sciences, geography, geology, geophysics, meteorology, oceanography, paleontology, mineralogy, and seismology. Some of the other links present throughout this page were originally recognized in these simple yet comprehensive guides.

United States Geological Survey (USGS)
We provide science about the natural hazards that threaten lives and livelihoods; the water, energy, minerals, and other natural resources we rely on; the health of our ecosystems and environment; and the impacts of climate and land-use change. Our scientists develop new methods and tools to supply timely, relevant, and useful information about the Earth and its processes.

USGS Current Alerts for U.S. Volcanoes
Volcano observatories issue updates and other types of notifications as activity warrants.

USGS Did You Feel It?
Did You Feel It? (DYFI) collects information from people who felt an earthquake and creates maps that show what people experienced and the extent of damage.

USGS Educational Resources
The USGS education webpages contain a curated collection of educational resources across the grade levels from preK through college. They focus on all of the earth sciences including geology, ecology, hydrology, atmospheric sciences, and planetary sciences. Teachers can search by grade level, topic, or type.

USGS Library
In addition to serving the research needs of USGS scientists, the library provides information to other organizations and individuals in the areas of geology, hydrology, cartography, biology, and related fields.

USGS Volcano Hazards Program
There are 161 potentially active volcanoes in the U.S. The mission of the USGS Volcano Hazards Program is to enhance public safety and minimize social and economic disruption from volcanic unrest and eruption. We accomplish this by delivering effective forecasts, warnings, and information about volcano hazards based on scientific understanding of volcanic processes.

USGS World's Water
An image of Earth's water in comparison to the size of the Earth. It shows that in comparison to the volume of the globe, the amount of water on the planet is very small. Oceans account for only a "thin film" of water on the surface.

Volcano World
From Oregon State University, this website includes information about volcanoes, their activity, and how they form and erupt.
