Fall 2022 Library Graduate Research Symposium

The University Library, in collaboration with Graduate Studies and Project LOGRAR, will host a 3-hour, single day event that consist of online workshops and remote library instruction, strengthening graduate students' knowledge and skills as researchers and scholars. The event is aimed to build a sense of community and belonging at the university as well as provide the opportunity to build skills as researchers through the workshops and information sessions that are offered. The event will aim to reinforce the value of library resources and librarians in graduate students’ experience of being in a graduate program. 

Program Learning Outcomes 

  1. Students will develop a sense of community through participation in a graduate-centered space. 

  1. Students will gain familiarity with Library resources and services. 

  1. Students will to be able to analyze information and ideas from a variety of sources and perspectives to make informed decisions. 

  1. Students will be able to identify the contribution that a specific source makes to their research. 

  1. Students will learn how to match their information needs and search strategies with the appropriate search tools. 

  1. Students will be able to properly cite information sources by crediting the ideas of others.
