CQ Researcher has in depth reports on controversial issues. Some examples are listed below. The reports often have a "Pro" vs "Con" section for hot topics. You can also browse through CQ Researcher's reports by date, "issue trackers," and pro/con sections by topic. Be sure to pay attention to the the dates of the reports, as some of them are quite old.
