The Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion Committee aims to transform the internal and external environment of the University Library as it pertains to equity, diversity, and inclusion. Some of our projects for AY 2023-2024 include:
- Finalizing Title IX Accomodation Proposals
- Selecting and promoting equity-centered professional development opportunities for the EDI Committee as well as the Library more broadly such as:
- Library 2.023 Mini-Conference: EDI 2.0: Individual Responsibility for Creating Belonging and Connection in the Library Profession
- Promoting inclusivity by:
- sharing pronouns on the Library's website staff directory, organizational chart and internal contact roster
- promoting multilingual language awareness and engaging library employees to share their spoken dialects and languages
- Creating and promoting diversity and inclusion programming, resources, and services such as:
- Paris is Burning Film Screening (in partnership with Pride Center and Male Success Initatives (MSI))
- Recipient of the Office of Interdisciplinary Ethnic Studies Teaching and Scholarship Co-Sponsorship University-Wide Event that helped advance the mission of Cal Poly Pomona's General Education Area F: Ethnic Studies
- Speaker event - The Unfolding: A Lunch of Poetry and Inspiration with Arielle Estoria
