Mindfulness is the maintenance of awareness of thoughts, feelings, physical sensations, and surrounding environment each moment an event arises.
Some of the benefits of mindfulness are:
- Can relieve chronic stress as well as increase tolerance to it
- Can decrease the incidence of certain stress-related disorders, such as headaches and muscle tension
- Can increase physical relaxation and promote better sleep
- Can improve mood and increase calmness
- Can improve concentration and attention
- Can increase a sense of physical well-being and mental and emotional wellness
