This recording documents the presentation ceremony of W.K. Kellogg (cereal magnate, entrepreneur, and owner of Arabian Horses) giving his Pomona ranch to the State of California. Nearly 22,000 people attended the special event that included Will Rogers as Master of Ceremonies, W.K. Carrie Kellogg, California governor James Rolph, John G. Mott, Henry O'Melveny, Harry Chandler, S.H. Woodruff, and Edward Dickson.

Lois Ann Kroll was an Arabian horse trainer, author, and designer of show costumes for both horse and rider. In addition to designing costumes, Kroll also trained and owned Arabian horses and rode horses in various shows and events, including the Tournament of Roses Parade in Pasadena, California. She was owner of Silver Shadows Arabians in the community of Canyon Country in California. This film is part of the Lois Ann Kroll papers and is a home movie of an Arabian Horse show in Pomona in March of 1977. Though much of the landscape has changed, southern California was once teeming with horse ranches and this film provides a window into this era.
